Taking selfies has become a normal routine especially among youngsters who grew up equipped with the latest in technology. In fact, smartphone brands try their hardest to put out the best selfie camera on their products to entice people into buying their phones.
Along with the rise of social media, people’s desire to present the best versions of themselves have risen as well. And for those with dental braces, wearing the orthodontic appliance causes great stress especially on photographs. Thankfully, the advancement of technology also allowed Dentistry to keep up with the times and upgrade their services.
Check out five ways you can slay your selfie game even while on braces below.
#1 Go Lingual
Lingual braces are a type of braces wherein they are attached to the back of the teeth instead of the front teeth. The placement makes them less noticeable. No one will know you are undergoing orthodontic treatment unless you open your mouth widely and tilt your head backward.
#2 Choose Ceramic
If having dental braces on the back of your teeth does not sit well with you, you can opt for the traditional ones — with a twist! Instead of metal, choose tooth-colored like ceramic. Although more apparent than lingual, they remain less obvious than metal ones.
#3 Say goodbye to wires with Invisalign
Another option you have is Invisalign, a computer-generated tray that is almost transparent. Through it, you get to straighten your teeth using clear aligners. These aligners are then adjusted every two weeks or so. And since they are transparent and do not have wires, they don’t show on your selfies.
In addition, Invisalign is removable. You can take it off when eating, brushing, among others. However, make sure to keep it on for at least 21 hours.
#4 Have fun with your Dental Braces!
If none of those above appealed to you, why not make the most out of your dental braces by putting up your game strong? Enjoy the experience and experiment with various colors of dental elastics to “decorate” your orthodontic appliance.
#5 Keep them strong!
Taking care of your teeth, whether on braces or not, is the best thing you can do to achieve that perfect smile. Keep them healthy by practicing proper and regular oral care. Also, make sure to attend all your dentist appointment especially while on braces.
